Durty Nelly's Restaurant Review: Durty Nelly's is an institution in the airport area of Costa Mesa for reasonably priced meals, draft beers and live entertainment. Located in a boring business park, its cozy and quirky Irish pub interior and sunny indoor-outdoor patio make it a standout in this deserted part of town. Start with a freshly pulled pint of beer and order up the crisp and flavorful beer-battered onion rings. The menu also highlights Irish favorites such as bangers and mash, Irish stew and corned beef and cabbage, as well as American classics like juicy burgers, BLT sandwiches and healthy entrée salads. The super crisp and light fish ‘n’ chips are also rather good. Unfortunately, some entrées fall short, such as the flavorless roasted halibut with not-so-creamy mashed potatoes and overcooked veggies. Late-night karaoke reigns as the preferred entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. |
