Dutch Monkey Doughnuts Restaurant Review: Does it make sense to drive all the way out on GA 400 to get donuts? It does if you are a die-hard donut fan looking for some unique treats. We think the Boston cream pie donut alone is worth the trip. Some get a bit too fancy for our tastes, but a simple glazed classic is available, too. Pastry chef Arpana Satyu and chef Martin Burge named this operation in honor of their daughter, nicknamed Monkey, and because donuts are Dutch in origin. Both are culinary school-trained toques, and make everything from scratch. Counter Culture coffee is a good companion to the sweets. Dutch Monkey closes in late afternoon. |
