THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED eat! Restaurant Review: THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED Not your ordinary fried green tomatoes, these ones are stacked with feta cheese, drizzled with brown butter-sage vinaigrette, a squirt of balsamic, all festooned with micro sprouts. The culinary bar is set very high at this intimate, sophisticated downtown original. Servers are expert explicators of the involved menu (without batting an eye they can deconstruct the cane syrup barbecue-glazed salmon with black bean-corn salsa, tortilla hay and avocado cream). Food can be architectural and stacked without verging on contrived or convolved. It's fine dining in a lovely setting, but the prices remain hearteningly low. Local art is sold gallery-style from the walls, and occasionally a local musician will gently entertain the small dining room.
