El 7 Mares (The Seven Seas) is a bright, brawling and boisterous place that embodies coastal Mexico---the part with multiple mariachis but without the conspicuous condos. Try the coctel de camaron y pulpo---shrimp and octopus in a soda glass with tomato/ketchup sauce and chunks of avocado. Add a squeeze of lime. In fact, add lime to everything---even the beer. It's also good in the fish soups such as the eponymous siete mares and vuelve a la vida, or “return to life”---allegedly a good hangover cure. We have been unhappy with the sautéed fish tacos, but like the filete de mojarra (sheep's head) in beer sauce, and can recommend the camarones aguachile, a plate of shrimp with lime, cucumber and an impressive amount of green chile.
