THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED El Guajiro Restaurant Review:
No-frills and with a diminutive menu, El Guajiro slots into the local Cuban scene with the usual Cuban fare, served slowly and carefully. How does it stack up to its competitors in the Cuban world? We judge it so-so, but maybe we hit a bad day. We can recommend the starter chicharrones de pollo, except that the kitchen was out of the deep-fried yucca and the spicy accompanying sauce was forgotten. The mountain of rice with black beans that accompanied the entrée masitas de puerco (fried pork) was daunting, and the pork, filled with bits of bone.
