Elena Wu Restaurant Review: The charming Elena Wu, long a destination of South Jersey Chinese food aficionados, is a favorite spot for pre- or post-theater dining; it's just steps away from the Rave Cinema. The ambience is striking, done in reds and golds, with a lofty ceiling and a Dragon and Phoenix sculpture on one wall. Bring a bottle of Gewürztraminer, and let its unique flavor meld with Wu's refined cuisine, which is detailed in a ten-page menu that includes an array of dim sum and special dumplings, sushi galore, grandfather's chicken or spicy eggplant. The Peking duck is a crispy specialty. Maki and sashimi are also on the menu, and the kitchen turns out a lovely French trout amandine or even a grilled rack of lamb. |
