Elm Restaurant Restaurant Review: Awash in white, Elm Restaurant has an airy and serene atmosphere. The seasonal, eclectic American menus --- à la carte and a chef’s tasting --- are characterized by meticulous preparation. Small bites like Old Bay-seasoned shishito peppers and an avocado and Indian corn tostada whet the appetite for larger plates such as Chioggia beets salad with Sicilian pistachios, burrata and Mandarins that are as colorful as an artist's palette while melding complementary flavors. Entrées may include duck with barrel-smoked squash, Saskatoon berry and mizuna, and a burger topped with raclette cheese, kohlrabi and Russian dressing. Desserts recall the warm and comforting flavors of a country kitchen with salty chocolate s'mores made with vanilla fluff, graham cracker crumbs and chocolate ice cream. Even the cocktail menu is tailored to the seasons.
