Empire Little Bar Bistro Restaurant Review: Fans of tapas-style dining should make a point to try Empire Little Bar Bistro. Throughout Spain, the small plates are usually enjoyed with sherry or other cocktails. At Empire, the martini reigns. Tapas can be as simple as olives and cheese cubes or as elaborate as the petite filet of beef with local mushroom risotto and maple-glazed duck breast with roasted butternut squash. Other hot-side favorites include beef and black bean chili with jalapeño cornbread, stuffed quail, and chili-seared Brussels sprouts with toasted almonds that will make you wonder why you didn’t like vegetables as a kid. On the cold side, the Waldorf salad is a new-fangled, old school fave. We also like the jerk tuna salad and lemon-garlic marinated kale. If you prefer a traditional dinner, the kitchen will turn a tapa into a meal. |
