Evan's Kitchen Restaurant Review: Having a meal at Evan’s Kitchen is like having a meal at grandma’s house. Its location inside an antique mall is appropriate; beveled oak tables and chairs and dusty knickknacks make the place homey and welcoming. Friendly service, an extensive stick-to-your-ribs menu and ample portions add to the down-home charm. While lunch and dinner are served, locals know this is the place to go for breakfast. More than a dozen Benedicts and omelets are on the menu, as well as house specialties such as biscuits and gravy and corned beef hash. It can be a tough decision, but we made the right one with the breakfast croissant sandwich, the flaky fresh-baked delicacy balanced with fresh scrambled eggs, creamy avocado and a dousing in hollandaise. For lunch, “Evan’s Favorite” is also a hit, with turkey, bacon and avocado sandwiched between grilled Parmesan sourdough. Dinner selections include every decadent childhood dish of memory, including meatloaf with mushroom gravy, chicken potpie and chicken fried steak.
