![]() Fat Cat Restaurant Review: In the don’t-judge-a-book-by-its-cover category, there's Fat Cat, a group-friendly Uptown bar and grill that serves flavorful food behind its neighborhood bar façade. We like its updated retro vibe --- Art Deco bar, three-tiered light fixtures, plush U-shaped booths --- but we enjoy the Cuban pork belly sandwich even more. Cured for 24 hours and then braised, the fork-tender meat is topped with house-made red cabbage slaw, Swiss cheese and pickles and served on ciabatta. We choose to dip the crisp fries in accompanying aïoli sauce, though the signature spicy vinegar is a safe bet as well. Have a taste for Sloppy Joes? Fat Cat has your back. Wash it down with one of the Belgian beers on tap --- or really fall off the wagon and get the Godiva chocolate martini topped with peanut butter foam. Then pass the time with a game of pool or free shuffleboard. |
