THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Felix 55 Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review: Can the menu at this chic restaurant with custom-made furniture live up to the décor? The answer is yes. If you make it past the posh patio with its inviting porch swings, you’ll find an eclectic interior conceived by owner Pejman “PJ” Jamea. The backlit bar boasts a black Brazilian marble top and the dining area offers studded wood tables married with plush leather chairs, all of which Jamea designed. The seasonal menu, created by former chef Michael Kramer who has now left the restaurant, is essentially American, but with a few global touches. Summer may bring crimini mushroom risotto flavored with fresh tomatoes and chives, and crisp Gulf Coast red snapper on a bed of charred corn, grape tomatoes and navy beans. Expect to find wings and waffles and a big burger of Texas grass-fed beef with crunchy house-made pickles year-round. Basil-infused crème brûlée with berries is a light dessert. While the full bar offers some specialty cocktails, it’s the wine list that you shouldn’t bypass. There are several interesting selections --- like the Pascal Jolivet Sancerre --- all reasonably priced by the glass, half bottle and bottle.
