| Owner Sondra Bernstein offers this smaller, more straightforward version of Sonoma's The Girl & The Fig. The menu includes small plates such as house-cured olives and salumi, mussels in tarragon and leek broth, and a signature fig and arugula salad plus thin-crust pizzas such as the ham, potato and Fontina. Comfort food dominates the mains: pot roast, grilled cheese with tomato confit, pan-roasted chicken and mac ‘n’ cheese. Do try the "Fig Royale"---a bubbly concoction of Roederer Estate Brut and Figoun, a German fig-based liqueur---the combination works! Something else to note about The Fig Café is that there is never a corkage fee, inviting vintners and the wine-browsing public to come and enjoy their purchases. |
