| Franco's enjoys a loyal following that come for the well-prepared Italian-American fare at good prices. The croutons are house-made; the salad greens are crispy and properly dressed; and the house-baked breads are fresh and yeasty. Franco's makes its own pizza dough; our favorite pie is the margherita, with luscious tomatoes, cheese and chiffonade of basil on a thin-crust. For heartier appetites, try the very good lasagna. At lunch, sandwiches and pasta dishes served with herbed focaccia and tossed salad draw crowds looking for good value. The wine list has a lot of offerings, but they don't really go well with the food---especially the by-the-glass choices---and we would be happier with a few homemade desserts. |
