The Freakin Incan Restaurant Review:

The simple interior of this small suburban strip mall space is made to feel somewhat like a food truck, with the cutout of an alpaca framing the opening to the tiny kitchen. From it emerge classics of the Peruvian culinary canon, including anticuchos of beef heart, a common street snack. We like the papas a la huancaina, sliced potatoes under a creamy, spicy sauce. Potatoes, which are native to Peru, in fact figure prominently in this cuisine. You'll find them mashed and stuffed with ground beef, for instance. Ceviches are prepared with mahi mahi and shrimp, and the seemingly ubiquitous red onion. Pork and chicken are the featured meats in a variety of stews and pasta preparations. For dessert, try the regionally popular alfajores, a shortbread cookie filled with dulce de leche. There is wine and beer, but here's your chance to have an Inca Kola, chicha morada (a nonalcoholic drink made from purple corn) and Inca tea, our choice the latter. A second full-service location is in Tucker at 2316 Main St., Ste. C, 770-609-6633.
