Part of the California-based Moose McGillycuddy’s restaurant chain, Fred’s Mexican Café offers a lively environment, a standardized menu of tacos, burritos and burgers, and open-air patio with an ocean view. It’s the place to go for a cheap breakfast or sunset-viewing happy hour on the south shore. Fred’s is locally renowned for its raucous “Taco Tuesday,” which features $3 tacos and drink specials from 4 p.m. to closing, as well as a large selection of tequilas.
