 Much of G. Michael's bar area is a restored German Village brick home; the other half of the restaurant is a modern addition. Both areas are pleasant and bustling with people at night. Choose from about a half-dozen small plates, namely the shrimp and grits with tomatoes, scallions, country ham and andouille sausage or the pulled oxtail crêpinette with Gruyère mashed potatoes. Among main courses, try the seared jumbo scallops or braised beef short ribs atop celery root purée with Swiss chard and black pepper reduction. Meanwhile, the signature dessert---a lemon gingersnap tart---arrives with fresh berries and a passion fruit sauce. An impressive drink list includes an unusual John Daly---Grey Goose Le Citron, mingled with orange liqueur, lemonade and ice tea. Look for the Georgetown-like patio seating in warm weather.
