Galaxy Diner Restaurant Review: Galaxy Diner offers Greek specialties (pastitsio, gyros, spanakopita, souvlaki, moussaka) that are a nod to an earlier owner, along with Italian dishes (lasagna) and Mexican fare on a huge menu that also has American standards, such as burgers at lunch and Southern dishes like fried catfish and hush puppies. In fact, the dinner menu is heavy on seafood, although you can get meatloaf and country-fried steak. There is a short if uninteresting wine list, but you'll find some beers, including fine local quaffs. There’s corned beef hash at breakfast, and pancakes that are pretty much flavorless, but they're filling and tender. Poached eggs are properly done. Galaxy Diner locks the doors about 20 minutes before its stated closing time, so don't come too late.
