Garden Court Restaurant Restaurant Review: Many Sydney locals have fond memories of dining here in the days when it was part of the Sheraton Wentworth. It’s now under the banner of the French-born luxury hotel chain Sofitel. French-born chef Boris Cuzon and his staff work to create a marriage of French technique with prime Australian produce. Coffin Bay scallops may appear on the menu along with crispy skin duck confit, or Riverina lamb rack with ratatouille. Children are welcomed with a “Little Guests Menu,” and afternoon tea is a highlight for everyone. The cooking is not elitist; it’s simply fine food well executed, as in Grainge Black Angus rib-eye steak or a classic coq au vin, presented in a space that is reminiscent of rural French fining dining. The glassed-in terrace overlooking the rooftop garden (hence the name) adds to the impression. Of course, the wine list nods graciously to both northern and southern hemisphere wines.
