Gino's Restaurant Review: Gino's is a homey, family-run and family-friendly restaurant offering Italian-American food just like Nonna used to make for Sunday dinner. A copper metal door and century-old oak bar lend warmth to the cozy dining room. Large tables and a fun atmosphere make this an appropriate choice for bigger groups. The kitchen uses local meat, seafood and produce whenever possible. Your best bets are simple dishes that benefit from quality ingredients and robust flavoring. The family-style Caesar salad will leave you breathing garlic for days. Seafood dishes such as steamed clams, mussels or the classic cioppino are always good. Or order the homemade ravioli or Gino's signature dish: Grandma Jean's pasta, a peasant-like stew of beef, pork ribs and tomatoes ladled generously over a mound of penne. Save room to at least share tiramisu, cheesecake or butterscotch chocolate pudding. As an authentic pairing for your meal, choose from among more than 500 Italian wines. |
