Goosetown Tavern Restaurant Review:

The Goose’s handle is a reference to the origin of much of the house’s rustic innards---the now-extinct Goosetown Tavern of Golden, Colorado. One of Colorado’s oldest continually operating watering holes, the age-old joint was demolished by Coors Brewing a few years ago to make room in one of the company’s corporate parking lots. Today the Goose houses the bar and other architectural elements from the old Goose, along with crowds of locals who drink from a dozen taps of choice craft beers. Many of the beers are crafted from the local Wynkoop Brewery, and there’s also a nice list of guest beers, along with a few top-shelf spirits on hand. Lunch and dinner crowds munch on toothsome specialty pizzas, focaccia sandwiches and other reasonable caliber edibles. Music lovers from the Bluebird Theater across the street make for raucous late-night crowds. Afternoons are best for quiet quaffing and beer talk.
