Graze by Jennifer James is one of those rare Albuquerque restaurants that has been able to buck the conservative trend and serve daring, often exotic meals consisting solely of small plates. While appetizer-only restaurants may be common elsewhere, Graze is the first in Albuquerque. Portions are about 4- to 6-ounces each and are lavishly packed with flavors. Diners are expected to order several and share. This is truly a restaurant where folks are encouraged to play with their food and to talk about it too. Spring rolls stuffed with crab, lamb tenderloin in a red wine reduction, and udon noodles in a spicy mushroom broth are some of the menu offerings---the menu changes daily. The wine list has something to pair with each flavor and the staff knows enough about both the food and the wine to make knowledgeable suggestions. It's a great place to people-watch from the patio or from behind huge picture windows facing Central Avenue.
