The Greater Good Barbecue Restaurant Review

: Hosea + 2nd, a development in Atlanta's East Lake neighborhood, is home to this branch of Clay Harper and Mike Nelson’s The Greater Good Barbecue (the duo own La Fonda Latina and Fellini's Pizza). The bright, cheery interior is decorated with reproduction folk art-style pieces. Outfitted with a generous pile of wood in the back, this location offers barbecue on a par with that of the other two outposts. An addition to the menu is baby-back ribs that have been batter-dipped and fried and come with a ranch dressing; finger food at its finest, they're meaty and sweet. We find the chicken a little dry, so stick with pork and brisket for meats. Among the four sauces, we favor the South Carolina style with some mustard in it, although the house version is decent. Mac 'n' cheese is the right stuff, just like Mom used to make, with golden cheddar-style cheese. We prefer the Brunswick stew to the brisket chili. Banana pudding is available for dessert.
