Rafael Palomino demonstrates his culinary skill with a traditional American-inspired menu.
THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Greenwich Tavern Restaurant Review:
Greenwich Tavern presents an American menu worthy of chef Rafael Palomino, the restaurateur who brought us Sonora and Pacifico. The warm and mellow beige tones and living room-style setting in the bar and lounge, along with a softly lit dining area with colorful murals decorating the walls, create an intimate and convivial atmosphere. Begin with the duck confit raviolis and the blue crab croquettes. The seared magret duck breast with sweet potato purée and dried cherries in a pomegranate reduction combines autumnal flavors while the herb-crusted rack of lamb holds a hint of spice. A crisp New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc for the former and a dry California Cabernet for the latter make ideal accompaniments. A selection of farmstead cheeses or the chef's special fondue with seasonal fruit is a fine ending.
