Gulliver's Restaurant Restaurant Review: Gulliver's has a longstanding reputation as a pub and restaurant with eighteenth-century appeal, a rarity in OC. Located directly across from John Wayne Airport, the place delights the eye with its leaded glass and pewter everywhere. The menu is known for its three cuts of charbroiled prime rib, creamed corn, duck à l'orange, veal Oscar, rack of lamb, Châteaubriand and baby-back ribs. The steaks are thick and juicy, and the Yorkshire pudding adds just the right authentic Olde English touch, as do the costumed serving wenches. Popular with large parties, the eatery also offers an extensive lunch menu, the highlights of which are the prime rib sandwich and the shrimp and crab Louie and ahi salads. The wine list is serviceable enough, with plenty of domestic and international labels and a solid arrangement of wines by the glass. |
