Dining room at Hakkasan, Las Vegas, NV

Hakkasan Restaurant Review

: Situated in the former space of Studio 54, this massive 80,000-square-foot complex houses the restaurant on the first level, topped by private dining rooms and the Ling Ling Lounge on the second, and nightclub on the third, fourth and fifth floors. You enter through a narrow corridor amid ambient sounds and scents. Intimate dining areas known as cages are separated with latticework and a tranquil video feature is visible in the bar framed in tungsten-blue lighting. The expansive modern Cantonese menu is the creation of international executive chef Ho Chee Boon and includes a steamed dim sum platter, with pairs of scallop, perch, har gau, and black pepper duck dumplings that are perfect for sharing. Crispy duck salad is a tower of duck, greens, pomelo, pomegranate and pine nut. There's also a stir-fry of lotus root with royal trumpet mushroom in bean sauce, and roasted Chilean sea bass with Chinese honey. The inventive PB&J dessert combines peanut butter parfait, sour cherry jam and banana and passion fruit sorbet. The menu is complemented by a large collection of saké, craft beer, wine and spirits sourced from all over the globe.
