Half Moon Bay Brewing Company Restaurant Review

: One of the most happening restaurants in Half Moon Bay, the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company draws a large crowd of locals and non-locals for its proximity to the water and weekend live music scene. Chef Gaston Alfaro’s versatile menu is equally magnetic, finding inspiration from classic American brewpubs, New England clambakes and, with success, his homeland of El Salvador. Consequently, diners can dig into a platter of spicy Buffalo wings or the half-pound burger prepared with Creekstone beef, or get more exotic with the Yucatan halibut that’s been marinated in achiote, a spice not unlike paprika. Further menu items find root in the area's large Portuguese population, including a savory Portuguese stew with shellfish and linguiça in garlic broth. Desserts are all-American and include a massive brownie sundae and a peanut butter cup pie. Brews are obviously the featured beverage and include pale and amber ales, a hoppy IPA with lots of bite and a creamy Hefeweizen.
