Hall Street Grill Restaurant Review: If you're out in chain-dominated suburbia, you'll be delighted to discover Hall Street Grill. Its woodsy atmosphere is far more “ski lodge” than strip mall. The wide-ranging menu offers appetizers from arancini to hummus, as well as salads like one featuring roasted Oregon beets, apples, almonds and white cheddar. The mesquite grill produces juicy steaks and many meat dishes, such as the fork-tender bavette steak, slow-cooked for 20 hours. Fish lovers are also accommodated with grilled Columbia River sturgeon and Maine lobster mac ‘n’ cheese. Asian chicken salad, Cobb salad and sandwiches provide options for lighter appetites and smaller budgets. A popular three-course tasting menu is available, too. Rich homemade desserts include spiced pumpkin dos leches cake and a dark chocolate hazelnut terrine. Weekend brunches are indulgent, featuring generous plates of duck confit, fluffy waffles, a breakfast burger layered with bacon, and pancetta-wrapped shrimp and grits. A lively bar focuses on cocktails made with fresh juices, while the wine list is ample for all tastes.
