Hall Street Grill Restaurant Review: Out in chain-dominated suburbia, Hall Street Grill has original personality with a woodsy atmosphere that’s more ski lodge than strip mall. The wide-ranging menu covers appetizers from arancini to hummus. The mesquite grill produces juicy steaks and many meat dishes --- try the double-cut pork chop with wild boar spätzle. But fish lovers are also accommodated, with choices like grilled Columbia River sturgeon and wild mushroom-stuffed ruby trout. Asian chicken salad, Cobb salad and sandwiches provide options for lighter appetites and smaller budgets. A popular three-course tasting menu is available, too. Be to leave room for the rich homemade desserts such as a spiced pumpkin dos leches cake and a dark chocolate hazelnut terrine. Weekend brunches are indulgent, featuring generous plates of duck confit, fluffy waffles, a breakfast burger layered with bacon, and pancetta-wrapped shrimp and grits. A lively bar focuses on cocktails made with fresh juices; the wine list is ample for all tastes. Staff is professional. |
