Hard Rock Cafe Restaurant Review: This theme chain is not for everyone, but if you have a hankering for the blue suede shoes aesthetic and a full bar, head to the Hard Rock. We suggest skipping the steaks---they tend to be on the tough side and over-salted---and go for the tried-and-true burger platters (including a veggie version), all served with fries and a side salad. Sandwiches and heaping barbecue platters are also offered. Sometimes we flirt with the idea of going to the Hard Rock for a long afternoon of appetizers and drinks like the Lovely Rita, Rider on the Storm and Electric Kool-Aid---which, according to the menu, is contrary to Tom Wolfe's book and contains only legal ingredients. Every Hard Rock employee willingly sings along to the in-house oldies, accepts requests for ingredient substitutions without batting an eye and welcomes guests with genuine warmth. |
