Hoda's Middle Eastern Cuisine Restaurant Review: The menu may be familiar at Hani and Hoda Khouri's comfortable establishment, but the Middle Eastern standards are prepared from scratch using quality ingredients. We like the dips --- hummus, baba ghanouj, labne (fresh pressed yogurt cheese) --- especially when mopped up with warm, puffy pita bread fresh from the oven. Tabbouleh is made the traditional way, with plenty of bright green, fresh-chopped parsley. Both the vegetarian and meat-stuffed grape leaves are better than average, and the lamb shwarma is tender and well spiced. Vegetarian entrées include a grilled vegetable plate or mujadra, a comforting dish of lentils, jasmine rice and caramelized onions, topped with a cucumber yogurt salad. Enjoy your dinner or lunch with a sweet lime drink or a glass of Lebanese wine. Also located at 4727 NE Fremont St., 503-688-5577. |
