This relatively small, high-volume restaurant serves food that is, more often than not, first-rate. Mindy Segal (formerly the pastry chef at mk) is the chef-owner, and she --- along with Dennis Stover --- oversees the creation of seasonal, exciting plates. Options might include braised suckling pig, offset by English peas, ramps, watercress and turnips, or a simple, restrained roasted half chicken plated with Parisian gnocchi and leek vinaigrette. Desserts, of course, are a joy --- especially when it comes to the chocolate soufflé tart or the Honeycrisp apple strudel served with roasted apple and sour cream ice cream. There's a whole range of hot chocolate drinks and milk shakes as well as a decent wine list and good cheese selection.
