Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse Restaurant Review: Hyde Park embraces classic steakhouse traditions. The attractively appointed interior provides a warm, clubby background for the straightforward but pricey menu. Prime aged steaks are the main draw, but chops and fish also rank high. The menu features all the usual suspects: filet, rib-eye, New York strip and porterhouse as well as a bone-in filet and bone-in rib-eye. There are two dry-aged steaks worth noting --- a 36-day rib-eye and a 40-day New York strip --- in addition to a handful of Wagyu choices. Consider starting with the baby heirloom tomato and mozzarella salad, followed by anything from the raw bar. (The oysters on the half shell are briny and tasty.) From there, try the garlic steak, a New York strip, served with roasted cloves of garlic, mushrooms and butter. On the side, go for the lobster mac ‘n’ cheese or the roasted Brussels sprouts. Keep in mind that portions are large and everything is served à la carte. The wine list is decent, and the martinis arrive super-cold. Desserts are steakhouse standards, such as cheesecake.
