THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED India Grill Restaurant Review:
One of Rockville's bargain bests, India Grill has moved from its former shoebox-sized location to bigger digs down the 'pike. Since it has been around for years, it's not surprising to find that even in its new site that the Grill has its own large following, honing in on the generous buffet table with its mix of North and South Indian fare, and its fine though limited menu with such wonders as lobster vindaloo and wonderful hot breads plucked right from the tandoor. With its glassed-in and highly visible kitchen, India Grill makes no bones about displaying its kitchen staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers samosa chat and bhel puri, both relatively unusual, and gave a thumbs-up to the lamb vindaloo, just hot and sour enough to win our affection. If you've got a sweet tooth, don't pass up this kitchen's version of the Indian gulab jamun, balls of homemade Indian cheese drenched in a sweet, spicy syrup.
