| The white-washed stone entrance, grapevine-covered patio complete with lion's head fountain, and cozy dining rooms give this downtown establishment a distinct European air. It makes an ideal setting for intimate trysts as well as group meetings. Contemporary American flavors with a big addition of Mediterranean accents are combined here with great success. Lamb shines in a number of preparations, especially the shank with orzo. Another good choice is the boned roast chicken served with garlicky mashed potatoes and raisin chutney. Dessert lovers will marvel at the rich chocolate truffle pie, but if calories matter, consider the leaner sorbet or lemon mousse instead. |
