Situated in a colonial-style house on a grassy hilltop overlooking a golf course, The Iron Skillet has been a tradition for generations of families to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and to entertain out-of-towners. Platters of pan-fried crispy chicken, heaping bowls of sides and warm biscuits are the favorites, although steaks and seafood are available. While the tossed green salad with a house sweet vinaigrette may not be fancy cuisine, it sure is good, and there is never a complaint about the tasty and rich vanilla ice cream accompanied by a choice of fudge, butterscotch or mint sauce to end the feast.
