From a once tiny (now 5,000-square-foot) spot, a chain of ice cream parlors for the 21st century has emerged. This location abides in the former building bank vault in the bottom of one of Atlanta's most notable historic buildings. It caters chiefly to the downtown business set. All ice creams are made in small batches. Ambience in all is a tad funky, with painted brick walls, zany art (for sale), and comfortable upholstered seating that usually is taken by twenty-something student types. It's a contemporary coffeehouse, lunch spot and ice cream parlor all rolled into one. Our favorites in the ice cream department are the ginger and the German chocolate cake, but who's to say what's best? Let your own tastebuds do the sampling. Passionate attention to detail includes growing its own figs for the honey-fig, so that's only available in fig season. Sorbets are intense fruit flavored experiences, with our vote going to the raspberry. Good coffee by local java-meister J. Martinez is the beverage of choice. Sandwiches, both hot and cold, salads and soups round out the offerings. Alcohol is not an option. Not all menu items are available at all stores, as they vary widely in size. Other locations.
