Chef Jim Burke’s modern American cuisine and the restaurant’s contemporary ambience, including a glowing fireplace in winter, make this a welcome option in the Bella Vista neighborhood. Burke spent time at Vetri and Ristorante Frosio in Alme, Italy, before he became chef at Stephen Starr's Angelina. Splurge on the tasting menu, paired with wine, ranging from five to nine courses. The selections might include risotto alla Milanese with summer truffles; wild king salmon with potatoes rösti and caviar sauce; and roast of Jamison Farm lamb crowned with baby carrots, leeks and fennel jus. The spare dessert menu also reflects the seasons. A gingered rhubarb sugar triangle topped with honey cream tastes like summer itself. The Sunday supper---three courses for $40, with the menu changing weekly---is a good deal.
