| Jasper White’s enormous homage to New England seafood in Cambridge sets the kitschy stage for this Back Bay branch. Sure enough, with its rustic décor and rollicking raw bar, it’s only slightly less campy than the original. Inside, there are communal picnic tables along with enormous tanks housing the live version of White’s signature dish: pan-roasted lobster. Seafood offerings range from scallops and shrimp to clams and oysters, but also include some nice surprises like cod cakes and bacon-wrapped monkfish. Daily-changing wood-grilled specials are listed on the blackboard, and can be prepared with the specialty Jamaican jerk rub for some added kick. We like the summertime clambakes complete with lobster, mussels, clams, corn, potatoes, egg and chourico. Fried chicken, meatloaf and a rib-eye are available too. Other locations. |
