Jeffrey's Hamburgers Restaurant Review: With classic diner styling, from chrome and tailfins to Formica counters, booths and tables outfitted with padded red seating, the ambience is from another era, when food was fresh and cooked to order --- exactly as it is here. Jeffrey's grinds its meat on site, using full cuts of chuck with a bit of hanger steak and tenderloin mixed in for extra flavor. Burgers are the star of the show, with nine versions on the menu as well as additional ingredients for customizing. Fries are crisp on the outside, tender to the point of fluffy on the inside, and hot on delivery. Salads and sandwiches are solid, as is the fish --- or shrimp --- and chips. Everything can be tricked out as desired at the self-service topping bar, and sauces delivered with the meals are made on the premises. Traditional milkshakes include a seasonal variant. All that's missing is a slice of pie, as Jeffrey's doesn't serve dessert.
