Palo Altans reserve a special place in their hearts for Joanie's. Unlike the nearby Hobee's locations, which are Joanie's main competition for business, this is the type of place that seems trafficked almost exclusively by regulars. The waiters seem to know people's names, if not what they are likely to order. Although it's also open for lunch and dinner, Joanie's is primarily known as a breakfast spot and serves excellent waffles, pancakes and omelets.
