Joe’s Deli Restaurant Review: Joe’s Deli caters to a casual crowd in a modern space with clean lines, wooden booths and loads of natural light thanks to the windows that surround the restaurant. Large, open rooms, along with a dedicated bar area, allow for plenty of elbowroom. Expect a wait, though, no matter the day or time. Once seated, service is quick and efficient. The extensive menu is loaded with nostalgic dishes like hot pastrami, liver and onions and homemade soups. (Come hungry or prepare to share, as portions are generous.) Start with an order of hummus, served with pita bread and topped with olive oil. The corned beef sandwich is obligatory if you’ve never had it, but the tuna melt, Reuben and burgers are also tasty picks. If after all that nosh you’ve saved room, take a stroll by the dessert case. Dozens of pastries ranging from a New York-style plain cheesecake to a German chocolate cake and a buttery coconut cream pie are too good to pass up. The chocolate chip cookies are also enchanting and worth every calorie.
