John Holly’s Asian Bistro Restaurant Review: There are plenty of places to eat in and around Park Meadows Mall, but when it comes to Asian cuisine, options tend toward the food-court variety. Which is what makes this upscale spot such a pleasant surprise. Dim lighting and sleek black marble tables create a comfortable yet elegant atmosphere. Start your evening with a cocktail, saké or glass of wine from the smallish list at the quiet side-bar. The menu features an extensive offering of Chinese entrées with great vegetarian options and daily specials, but after enjoying a bowl of miso soup, you may want to opt for sushi. We recommend the spicy baked yellowtail roll or the mango roll---crab meat and tempura-battered shrimp topped with avocado and a slice of mango; the sweetness is the perfect counterbalance to salty soy sauce. Desserts are rather uninspired; go for the green tea ice cream or make do with a fortune cookie. |
