THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Keo's Thai Cuisine Restaurant Review

: Keo’s followers are legion and fanatical. Those used to the run-of-the-mill Thai standards-your basic mee krob/pad Thai/barbecued chicken assortment-will marvel at the menu, full of all sorts of unusual and appealing creations. Perhaps the most famous Keo’s dish is the evil jungle prince, an addictive blend of chicken or shrimp with fresh basil, coconut milk and fresh chilis, set on a bed of chopped cabbage---there’s lot of Laotian influence at work here. Especially on a warm Honolulu evening, the varied salads here can make up a wonderful dinner-the sweetly refreshing green papaya, the enticingly named naked shrimp and the misnamed crispy fish salad (which should be called curry paste fish). The curries are uniformly excellen----we like the green curries best, filled with plenty of fresh basil from Keo’s own farm. The Ward Centre Keo’s is smaller and friendlier than the Waikiki location, with a better view. But it is perhaps not as dramatic as the original.
