The Kill Devil Grill is housed in an authentic, historically recognized diner, giving patrons the option of settling in at the counter or heading back to a booth-lined addition that flanks an open kitchen. Things don't change very often, but lunch and dinner menus provide a nice range of salads, including the aptly named Seazar, Big Kahuna burgers, and sandwiches like the smoked pulled pork with slaw along with a diverse smattering of entrées. For a light bite, check out the "snacks." Alongside Beer Can shrimp and spinach dip is the house specialty --- cheesesteak eggrolls, which require little further description. Dinner includes a variety of fresh fish, steaks, several pasta offerings and wood-roasted chicken served while it lasts. A chalkboard always lists the day's blue plate specials in true diner fashion. Reasonably priced desserts include a root beer float (it's a diner, after all), chocolate layer cake and strawberry shortcake. Located in the heart of the beach hotel district, you may find a short wait, but with fast, efficient service it will never be long enough to detract from your meal.
