King & I of San Marcos Restaurant Review: Traditional Thai art and handicrafts set the mood in this San Marcos restaurant offering classic dishes such as mee krob, sweet, crisp noodles sprinkled with chicken and shrimp. The menu offers little that’s out of the ordinary, but the kitchen prepares a variety of Thai favorites, including well-seasoned chicken and beef salads, and shrimp, chicken, beef and roast duck curries. Sweet potato fritters, deep-fried in coconut batter, are a hit. A cold Singha beer complements the curry of the day or the king fried rice.
