Koji Osakaya Restaurant Review: Koji Osakaya’s Kansai-style dishes include boiled tofu, octopus dumplings and okono miyaki, a soft and custardy yam-based pancake. Otherwise, the menu runs the expected gamut from sushi, curry and udon to tempura, teriyaki and ramen. The sushi bar sets a high standard for freshness and works with a wide selection of fish; master sushi chefs prepare and present their creations with a winning graciousness. Palate-tempting specials, such as exotic green-lipped mussels, are always available. To top things off, there’s a nice line-up of Japanese beers and saké. Combo lunch and dinner menus offer good value. Or try the nabemono, a hot pot where guests cook Kobe beef, shiitake mushrooms and tofu in a seaweed-based broth right at their table. The downtown location is appropriate for a pre-theater or -concert dinner. Other locations.
