Kung Fu Tacos Restaurant Review: Tacos are the specialty here, but this isn’t the place for authentic or traditional Mexican food. The brainchild of Tan Truong, owner of the dessert and wine-serving Candybar in San Francisco, Kung Fu Tacos looks to the Asian continent for its main inspiration beyond the tortilla. Thus, China provides the impetus for the standout moo shu veggie and char siu (barbecued pork) tacos, while Vietnam inspires the sriracha chili and ginger spiked sauce marinated steak version. The truck is a staple in downtown San Francisco and at special events, but it’s arguably at its best during those occasional times when it is parked in front of Candybar for a unique happy hour. |
