THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED La Campagne Restaurant Review

: Country French is an over-used phrase, but it is the only way to describe this South Jersey favorite. From its fragrant gardens, to the different dining rooms done in Proven├žal or floral prints, with rustic French furniture, to the antique objets and dried flowers; you could be entering a country inn in the south of France. Many of their chefs have graduated to other locations, but the inn itself has quietly continued to educate yet another generation in the glories of classic French cuisine. Bring a bottle of your best wine, and enjoy the traditional lobster bisque, or seasonally dictated versions of foie gras. Then, have anything from rack of lamb to duck breast, perhaps done with sour cherries. Tableside filleting of Dover sole is expert, and this is one thing that does not change with the seasons. Burnt sugar ice cream may wind up a satisfying meal.

GAYOT's Annual Restaurant Awards honor America's best chefs, as well as promising newcomers and a top restaurateur.
