La Canela Restaurant Review: The upscale sister of Gaithersburg’s La Flor de la Canela, this Rockville dining room offers polished woods, grill work and patio dining. A fine menu includes some of the standards, such as a perky ceviche; fried yucca with pork; the old-fashioned huancaina, the steamed potatoes with a creamy, piquant cheese sauce; and the chopped chicken cooked stew-like with potatoes. Best bet for dessert? The tres leches cake, one of the best versions around.
