This is numero uno for great Mex and great margs in Aspen. It’s good, it’s cheap, it’s hopping with locals every night. Tables full of families, worker bees on girl’s night out, trust funders, tourist and ski instructors make up the friendly mix. It’s easy to get to know them all while ordering up pitchers of fresh and frosty margaritas in the bar before dinner, without the deadly self-conscious pall of a singles bar atmosphere. The décor is inspired by the dashboard diorama of a Tijuana taxi. The usual Mexican fare of tacos, enchiladas, burritos, chili rellenos, with guac and salsa for openers, is the way to go. No Nouvelle Cuisine here.
