Lavender Bistro Restaurant Review: The setting at this Old Town La Quinta bistro includes an elegant dining room and a leafy patio for al fresco feasting (one of the main reasons people flock here). Piquing the interest of adventurous palates, the menu features fresh seafood, duck, pork and beef with French influences and California panache. There’s also cold seafood offerings, such as oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, king crab and other shellfish. The bar menu offers a collection of small plates and proves to be a bargain during happy hour. Certain nights of the week can be easy on the wallet, too, including no corkage on Sundays and half-price bottles of wine on Tuesdays. If you want to sit on the patio --- when the weather is behaving, as it mostly will during the high season --- specify that when making your reservation.
